Maryam Turkey
Photographry & StorytellingSculptor & musicianThe visual artist and musician Maryam Turkey has spent years dismantling buildings in her imagination. In her sculptures, towers and architectural fragments are reduced, rearranged and transformed into playful structures that invite people to touch, climb, sit and wander through them. In her music, melodies are pulled apart and collaged back together according to the same instinct. “The structure itself is a deconstructed structure,” she explains. “There is structure, but it’s unusual.”
